ROBERTO LOREGGIAN obtained
his organ and harpsichord diploma with distinction. He then continued
to study at Royal Conservatory of The Hague (NL) under Ton Koopman.
In addition to his busy career as a soloist, he is much in
demand as continuo player in both orchestras and chamber ensembles.
Roberto Loreggian is particularly interested in the great
harpsichord heritage of seventeenth and eighteenth-century Italy, and
has adapted all existing manuscripts of G.B. Ferrini’s works for
the keyboard. The resulting recording was awarded the ‘Preis der
deutschen Schallplattenkritik’.
This prize was awarded also to the recording of the music
for harpsichord of B. Pasquini for Chandos. Roberto Loreggian has also
recorded works by Geminiani, Poglietti, Frescobaldi and Vivaldi, and Marcello’s
Sonatas for Harpsichord Op.III for Chandos.
He is presently recording the complete music of Frescobaldi
for the label Brilliant.
Roberto Loreggian teaches at the Conservatory of music ‘C.Pollini’
in Padua.
